About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Gagnon's Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet resort setting, including maintaining clean and safe animal areas, providing food and water, monitoring pets’ health and well-being, supervising play, and assisting with grooming-related tasks. The position is physically active and involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste. Pay starts at $17.00–$17.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips.

Requirements

A strong love for animals.
A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required according to the What You Should Know section.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
