About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Rockstar Pets. This hands-on role cares for pets in a day care and boarding environment, helping keep them safe, comfortable, clean, and happy. The work involves being on your feet for the duration of the shift and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, holiday, and closing availability are required. The position reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- Love of animals.
- Prior kennel and dog play group experience.
- Cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- 1–2 years of Dog Handler experience.
- Availability for closing shifts and weekends; evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one’s feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their waste, and report unusual findings to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pet playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
