About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Hound Dog Pet Hotel West. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a pet hotel environment, including keeping animals comfortable and their enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized. Shifts are scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Sunday availability is required for the 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. This is a physically active role that requires being on your feet for the duration of a shift, frequently standing, walking, and climbing stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste. The Animal Care Attendant reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

A strong love for animals.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
Be willing to perform hands-on work that may get dirty.
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Be able to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
Be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Sunday availability is required for the 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift.
Work involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste.

Prior kennel or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor the health and wellbeing of pet guests, including observing their waste, and report unusual findings to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
