About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant to provide hands-on care for pets at one of its pet care centers. The role involves keeping pets and their spaces clean, safe, and comfortable; providing food and water; monitoring pets’ health and behavior; and supporting play, grooming, bathing, laundry, and other care activities. This is an active, on-your-feet position involving frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Pay starts at $11.00–$14.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. The position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

Have a strong love for animals.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
Be willing to perform hands-on, messy work.
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Be able to stand for the duration of the shift and frequently stand, walk, and climb stairs.
Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Provide pets with meals and fresh water.
Monitor each pet guest’s health, behavior, and well-being, including elimination.
Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise playtime and pet activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to ensure they are clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
