About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Sunny Acres Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet resort environment. The work is active and may involve sweat, cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. The facility is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the employer is looking for someone whose availability works within those hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. The attendant keeps pets’ enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized; provides meals and fresh water; monitors each pet’s health and well-being; supervises play; and assists with brushing and bathing. The role also includes handling laundry and pet belongings, reporting unusual observations to management, and performing other duties as assigned. Little to no prior experience is required, though kennel or animal-care experience is a plus.

Requirements

Love of animals.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Availability that works with the facility’s operating hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal-care experience is a plus; little to no experience is required.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pet belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
