About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Gagnon's Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a pet resort setting, including maintaining clean and safe enclosures and play areas, feeding and watering pets, monitoring their health and behavior, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and bathing. The position also includes handling laundry and pets’ belongings and reporting unusual observations to management. This is a physically active role involving exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Pay starts at $17.00–$17.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. The facility’s hours of operation are 6:15 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required in the job’s working-conditions section, while another section says such availability is preferred.

Requirements

A strong love of animals.
A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on one’s feet for the duration of a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their elimination.
Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
