Angel Tree Coordinator
About The Position
The Angel Tree Coordinator drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to support the Corps/Area Command Christmas Angel Tree and Christmas Kettle programs. Responsibilities include transporting donations and gifts, and taking bell ringers to designated kettle worksites and picking them up afterward. The coordinator is responsible for the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations throughout these activities. The role also involves arranging pickup routes to meet schedules, collecting gifts and related items from homes, agencies, churches, malls, and other designated locations, and delivering them to the Corps or Christmas warehouse. The coordinator maintains the vehicle’s cleanliness and may assist with general cleanup, traffic routing during Angel Tree distribution, and setting up and dismantling Christmas displays. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of two years of driving experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to operate commercial equipment.
- Ability to safely transport employees in a van.
- Ability to perform required physical work and general building-cleaning activities.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, protocol, and Christian principles, and to communicate and work with the highest level of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Drive vans to transport bell ringers to kettle worksites and pick them up from designated worksites.
- Drive vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to collect gifts and deliver them to the Christmas warehouse and/or Corps.
- Organize pickup schedules using direct routes and arrive at destinations according to schedule.
- Collect gifts, stockings, and other items from homes, agencies, churches, and other designated locations.
- Drive to and from drive-through and/or drop-off events at malls or other assigned locations.
- Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of the truck and/or van.
- Assist with janitorial and general cleanup at the Corps, warehouse, or assigned location as needed.
- Assist with traffic routing at Corps and/or Area Command warehouse locations during Christmas Angel Tree distribution when requested.
- Set up trees, tables, and stands for Christmas displays and dismantle them at the end of the Christmas season.
- Perform other related work as required.
