Angel Tree Coordinator (8909)
About The Position
The Angel Tree Coordinator drives non-DOT vans or trucks to transport Christmas Angel Tree donations and gifts and, as needed, Christmas Kettle bell ringers. The position is responsible for the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations. It organizes pickups along the most direct routes to meet schedules, collects gifts and related items from homes, agencies, churches, malls, drive-through events, and other designated locations, and delivers them to the Christmas warehouse or Corps. The role also includes maintaining vehicle cleanliness and assisting with warehouse, Corps, and seasonal Christmas activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of driving experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to operate commercial equipment.
- Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to perform general building-cleaning activities.
- Ability to safely transport employees in a van.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, protocol, and Christian principles, and to communicate and work with a high level of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Drive vans to transport bell ringers to kettle work sites and return them to Corps or Area Command locations.
- Drive non-DOT vans or trucks to collect gifts and deliver them to the Christmas warehouse or Corps.
- Plan pickup schedules using direct routes and arrive at destinations according to schedule.
- Pick up gifts, stockings, and similar items from homes, agencies, churches, and other designated locations.
- Drive to and from drive-through or drop-off events at malls and other assigned locations.
- Ensure the safety, security, and accountability of vehicles and donations.
- Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of trucks and vans.
- Assist with janitorial and general cleanup at the Corps, warehouse, or assigned location.
- Assist with traffic routing at Corps or Area Command warehouse locations during Christmas Angel Tree distribution, when requested.
- Assist with setting up Christmas display trees, tables, and stands and taking them down at the end of the season.
- Perform other related work as required.
