Angel Tree Coordinator (8909)
About The Position
The Angel Tree Coordinator drives non-DOT vans or trucks to transport Christmas Angel Tree donations and gifts and, as needed, Christmas Kettle bell ringers. The position is responsible for the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations. It organizes pickups using direct routes and scheduled arrival times, transports gifts from homes, agencies, churches, events, and other locations to the Corps or Christmas warehouse, and maintains vehicle cleanliness. The role may also assist with cleaning, traffic routing, and setting up or dismantling Christmas displays. Duties may include other related tasks as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of two years of driving experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to operate commercial equipment.
- Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to perform general building-cleaning activities.
- Ability to safely transport employees in a van.
Responsibilities
- Drive vans to transport bell ringers to Christmas Kettle work sites and return them to Corps or Area Command locations.
- Drive vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to pick up gifts and transport them to the Christmas warehouse and/or Corps.
- Organize pickup schedules using the most direct route and arrive at destinations according to schedule.
- Pick up gifts, stockings, and other items from homes, agencies, churches, and other designated locations for delivery to the Corps.
- Drive vans or trucks to and from drive-thru and/or drop-off events at malls or other assigned locations.
- Ensure the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the truck and/or van inside and outside.
- Assist with janitorial and general cleanup work at the Corps, warehouse facility, or assigned location as needed.
- Assist with routing traffic during Christmas Angel Tree distribution at Corps and/or Area Command warehouse locations when requested.
- Set up trees, tables, and stands for Christmas displays and dismantle them at the end of the Christmas season.
- Perform other related work as required.
