About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician provides general assistance to anesthesia providers before, during, and immediately following surgical procedures and activities. The role also performs routine duties to maintain a clean, safe, and well-prepared work environment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Evidence of successful completion of BLS upon hire or as part of the orientation process.
• CPR certification every two years.
• Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements of the role.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction from anesthesia providers and assist with patient preparation, including applying monitoring equipment, assisting with anesthesia procedures, positioning patients, and transporting them.
• Obtain anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and the workroom; maintain a neat, clean, and stocked work area.
• Communicate successfully with anesthesia providers and operating room staff, and respond in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate Universal Precautions (infection control) during patient care and equipment handling.
• Respond quickly and calmly in emergencies; assist with CPR and other appropriate activities as directed.
• Use appropriate priorities in decision-making and manage schedule changes within the scope of the position.
