About The Position

Handles staffing needs regarding anesthesia gas machines, monitoring equipment, and non-controlled medications. Stocks the anesthesia workroom, anesthesia carts, non-controlled medications, and anesthesia supply closets; prepares IVs and invasive lines; and sets up rooms. Assists with room turnovers, equipment collection and cleaning, and restocking. Monitors equipment inventory, ensures equipment is returned to the OR after patient transport, and helps track equipment used in offsite procedures to reduce loss.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for Pennsylvania, required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Handle staffing needs regarding anesthesia gas machines, monitoring equipment, and non-controlled medications.
• Stock the anesthesia workroom, anesthesia carts, non-controlled medications, and anesthesia supply closets.
• Prepare IVs and invasive lines and set up rooms.
• Assist with room turnovers, collect used equipment, clean equipment, and restock.
• Check anesthesia equipment for cleanliness and clean it as necessary.
• Collect used or dirty equipment and discard disposables before the end of the day.
• Distribute equipment to the appropriate area for decontamination and sterilization.
• Monitor equipment inventory and ensure equipment is returned to the OR after patient transport.
• Assist with tracking equipment used in offsite procedures to reduce equipment loss.
