About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician/OR Aide handles staffing needs related to anesthesia gas machines, monitoring equipment, and non-controlled medications. The role stocks anesthesia workrooms, carts, medication supplies, and supply closets; prepares IVs and invasive lines; and sets up rooms. The position also supports operating room turnovers and equipment cleaning, collection, distribution, and inventory tracking.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support; Pennsylvania certification required upon hire.

• Experience working in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Stock the anesthesia workroom, anesthesia carts, non-controlled medications, and anesthesia supply closets.
• Prepare IVs and invasive lines and set up rooms.
• Assist with room turnovers, collect used equipment, clean equipment, and restock supplies.
• Check anesthesia equipment for cleanliness and clean it as necessary.
• Collect used or dirty equipment and discard disposables before the end of the day.
• Distribute equipment to the appropriate area for decontamination and sterilization.
• Monitor equipment inventory and ensure equipment is returned to the OR after patient transport.
• Assist with tracking equipment used in offsite procedures to reduce equipment loss.
