About the position
Fetch is seeking an Android Mobile Engineer Apprentice to join their team and contribute immediately. The successful candidate will build mobile applications that integrate with backend services and work on a small, multi-functional team. The role requires an understanding of functional or object-oriented programming, effective communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly. The ideal candidate will be graduating from college within a month and able to work full-time hours. Bonus points are awarded for full-stack development experience, personal app release, and test writing and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Build highly performant mobile applications to integrate with backend services
- Work on a small, multi-functional team that may include other engineers, a designer, product manager, data scientist and other roles
- Take on challenging problems and design & develop solutions with the mentorship of an experienced team member
- Understand functional or object-oriented programming
- Learn quickly
- Work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Communicate effectively, including the ability to translate and explain technical issues to non-technical team members
- Have experience with object-oriented or functional programming languages (specifically Kotlin)
- Have experience with mobile development (specifically Android)
- Have experience with modern app architecture (specifically MVVM/MVC)
- Have experience with version control system (specifically Git)
Requirements
- An understanding of functional or object-oriented programming

- A desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Effective communication, including the ability to translate and explain technical issues to non-technical team members
- Must be Graduating from College within a month, and able to work full-time hours!
- Object oriented or functional programming languages (we use Kotlin)
- Mobile Development (Android)
- Modern App Architecture (MVVM/MVC)
- Version control system (Git)
- Bonus Points:
- Full-stack development (Kotlin, Javascript, React, Swift)
- Both Android and iOS experience
- Personal app release
- Test writing and quality assurance
- Comfortable working Full Time after the Internship is completed!
