About The Position

AIG is seeking an Analyst in the Underwriting - Aviation department as part of their Early Careers program. This role offers opportunities to learn and grow skills and experience within a global risk leader. The Specialty Aviation business provides tailored insurance solutions for a wide range of aviation clients, including aircraft operators, airports, manufacturers, and airlines, leveraging over 70 years of expertise. The Early Careers program provides a connected cohort community with learning experiences and skills to launch a career, including on-the-job training, instructor-led masterclasses, exposure to senior leaders, mentoring, networking, and volunteering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2027 (unofficial transcript required upon application).
  • Available to start the Program on July 26, 2027.
  • Analyst positions are in-person opportunities, requiring employees to work in the office at least four days per week.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Preferred majors include Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in aviation, commercial insurance, or risk management.
  • Interest in evaluating complex risks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation and underwriting of aviation risks across areas such as aircraft operators, airports, manufacturers, and airlines.
  • Review underwriting submissions, exposure information, loss history, and other relevant data to support risk selection, pricing, and coverage decisions.
  • Partner with experienced underwriters, claims professionals, attorneys, and risk specialists to develop tailored insurance solutions.
  • Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business and renewal opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging aviation risks to support informed underwriting decisions.
  • Develop technical knowledge of aviation insurance while building analytical, decision-making, and relationship-management skills.
