About The Position

Responsible for all functions related to patient access in Ambulatory Care areas. Duties include patient check-in and check-out, registration activities, insurance verification, referral determinations, active account verification, patient demographic entry and verification, and scheduling new and follow-up appointments, lab and diagnostic services, and chemotherapy treatment. These activities are performed through direct patient interaction and multiple electronic scheduling worklists. The role rotates among point-of-service areas within the department and requires learning and applying processes specific to each situation. All activities must follow departmental and institutional protocols. The position accepts responsibility and accountability for assigned outpatient functions under the direction of the Manager, Ambulatory Care Operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in a related role required. Related experience in a fast-paced, professional customer service role may be considered in conjunction with healthcare experience or a bachelor's degree in lieu of experience.
