About The Position

As an AM Cook, you will work in a scratch-based kitchen to safely and efficiently prepare a variety of foods. You will help ensure each plate is high quality, visually appealing, and portioned according to residents’ preferences. The role also involves building positive relationships with residents, guests, and fellow team members.

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with willingness to work the PM shift as needed. The position is in a supportive, resort-style environment at a family-owned company with more than 60 communities nationwide.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and willingness to work the PM shift as needed.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English.
• Ability to secure appropriate food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two weeks of the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes, cooking a variety of proteins and vegetables using methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing.
• Ensure plated food is visually appealing and tailored to residents’ preferred portion sizes.
• Contribute ideas during meetings, remain open to feedback, and maintain attentive coverage of the service line during meal hours.
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties, including morning setup and end-of-day shutdown.
• Support teammates with shared duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
• Keep work stations stocked and organized, maintain adequate food supplies, refresh pantry items, and monitor refrigeration as needed.
• Clean work areas and equipment and regularly check and record food, refrigeration, and dish-machine temperatures.
• Build positive relationships with residents, guests, and fellow team members.
