About The Position

Senior Helpers of Las Vegas is hiring caregivers for morning shifts to provide in-home, non-medical assistance and companionship to seniors. Caregivers help clients with daily needs, support their independence and quality of life, and build meaningful relationships through conversation and shared activities. The role includes preparing meals, assisting with walking, dressing, and other activities of daily living, and reporting completed activities and updates about clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior.

Senior Helpers offers training opportunities, team support, flexible scheduling, and an opportunity to make a direct difference in clients’ lives. A hiring bonus is available for new employees. Applicants complete a short survey after submitting an application and may then schedule an interview.

Requirements

• Have a driver’s license, valid auto insurance, reliable personal transportation, a clean driving record, and willingness to drive a reasonable distance.
• Pass state and federal background checks and a drug screen.
• Obtain a TB test and physical examination before beginning work.
• Have CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Provide two personal references and two professional references.
• Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Be willing to learn new skills to improve clients’ lives.
• Have proficient communication skills.
• Be able to organize and prioritize assigned tasks.

Nice To Haves

• One year of field experience as a PCA or Home Health Aide is preferred; the employer will train suitable candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and engage clients in conversation.
• Participate in clients’ preferred hobbies and activities, such as scrapbooking, gardening, and playing games.
• Prepare meals for clients.
• Assist clients with walking, dressing, and other activities of daily living.
• Report completed activities and provide updates about clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior.
• Support clients’ independence and quality of life in their homes.
