About The Position

MISSION To provide safe, quality maintenance on passenger vehicles and heavy duty equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Diagnose, recommend, and complete vehicle alignment on commercial trucks and other vehicles based on guest needs. Balance wheel assemblies and perform commercial tire service. Pursue training opportunities for development into completing other vehicle services on commercial trucks, including but not limited to brake work, suspension services, axle work, and oil and lube services. Document work performed on service ticket Maintain tools and a clean work area Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner Protect company assets Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Trade School
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Driver’s License Required
  • Tire Industry Association ATS certification
  • ASE certifications
  • vendor-provided training
  • Mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Ability to operate phone systems for the effective communication of information to interested parties
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
