The AIT Lead provides technical, administrative, and operational leadership for assigned tasks, including contract and subcontractor management. This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization role performed directly in shipyards and drydocks aboard U.S. Naval ships, rather than in an office. The work involves exposure to varying temperatures, including summer heat and winter cold. The position contributes to technical project plans, proposals, reports, task orders, and administrative reporting; may perform high-level technical services; plans task workloads and recommends approaches to the customer; and attends customer meetings, potentially serving as the primary customer liaison. The AIT Lead also interacts with vendors, other agencies, and Government staff on the customer’s behalf, coordinates deliverable development, ensures deliverable quality, and participates in special projects as required. The role is onsite in Norfolk, Virginia, with 40 scheduled hours per week and less than 10% travel. Some positions on the contract require a Secret clearance; GDIT may sponsor qualified candidates who do not currently hold one, subject to position requirements and the applicable clearance process. The stated likely salary range is $59,500–$80,500, with compensation depending on experience, geographic location, and potentially contractual requirements.
