Airport Security Officer: P/T (Afternoons)
About The Position
As an Airport Security Officer in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government airport location. This unarmed patrol role involves maintaining a visible security presence, conducting routine patrols, and helping deter security-related incidents. You will provide courteous communication to travelers, visitors, employees, and staff, support a welcoming environment, and respond to concerns professionally and with integrity. This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $25.25 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM; Tuesday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM; and Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
- Pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only; the posting also lists a valid driver's license with at least one year of experience as a requirement.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and partners while following site-specific procedures and security policies at airport facilities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminals, public areas, parking locations, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and support access-control procedures for restricted areas in accordance with site policies.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
- Complete detailed reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to site leadership and applicable authorities.
