Airport Security Officer: Part-Time (Wed/Thurs)
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Airport Security Officer in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, at a government transportation location. The officer will conduct unarmed patrols, maintain a visible security presence, and provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport tenants. The role includes observing and reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, incidents, and policy violations; responding professionally to critical situations; and coordinating with airport personnel and public service agencies as directed. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday and Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $25.25 per hour. Applicants must meet age and screening requirements and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Pass a background check, physical, and drug screening, including the background check requirements of the DOT Pass and ID office.
- Possess a valid driver’s license; the posting specifies at least one year.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport tenants while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport terminals, public areas, parking facilities, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, observe activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, incidents, and policy violations according to established procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and critical situations, coordinating with airport personnel and public service agencies as directed.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
