About The Position

As an Airport Security Officer in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government transportation location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist travelers and other visitors with professionalism and clear communication. The role supports a welcoming environment through routine observations, reporting, and customer service. The position is part-time and scheduled Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $25.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Hold a valid driver's license; the posting specifies one year of experience with a valid driver's license.
Read, write, and speak English fluently.
Pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
Pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office.
Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, parking facilities, access points, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following established airport and site-specific protocols.
Monitor access to restricted or controlled areas, verify credentials as required, and report access concerns to appropriate personnel.
Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and promptly according to site procedures.
