Airport Security Officer: Full-Time Afternoon Shifts
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Airport Security Officer at a government airport location in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. The role serves and safeguards travelers, visitors, employees, airport partners, and clients by maintaining a visible security presence, patrolling assigned areas, monitoring for concerns, and supporting a welcoming environment. Officers provide customer service, communicate clearly, collaborate with their team, and follow site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Pay is $25.25 per hour. The position is unarmed and requires a valid driver’s license, at least one year of experience, English fluency, and the ability to pass required screening.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a valid driver’s license and at least one year of experience, as stated in the posting.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Be able to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
- Be able to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions; licensing requirements may apply according to state and local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport partners by following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, parking facilities, access points, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas.
- Monitor for security concerns, unusual activity, hazards, and access-control issues, and promptly report observations according to site procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, contacting airport personnel or emergency responders when needed.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate clearly with supervisors and authorized personnel.
