About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Systems Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, collaborating across engineering disciplines, and turning aircraft system requirements into innovative, certifiable solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in aerospace engineering design and/or systems integration.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics, electrical, and communication system integration.
• Knowledge of systems engineering design concepts, principles, and techniques.
• Experience with engineering change and configuration management.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft blueprints, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, documentation, and compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and program teams.
• Strong professional, interpersonal, and technical communication skills.
• Proficiency with Autodesk, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and related engineering applications.
• Ability to work effectively within a hybrid company-office/home-office environment.
• Ability and willingness to provide on-site technical support and travel domestically or internationally as program requirements dictate.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing and any applicable company/FAA Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program that may be required.
• Must be able to pass required background checks, including a 10-year TSA check if airport access or badging is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate avionics and electrical systems and equipment across multiple aircraft platforms.
• Perform system-level design, detailed electrical design, and aircraft installation design.
• Analyze system requirements and translate them into practical engineering specifications and integration solutions.
• Research and evaluate potential technical solutions to meet program and customer design objectives.
• Develop and improve avionics system designs with an emphasis on functionality, safety, reliability, and successful aircraft integration.
• Apply systems engineering principles to solve complex, real-world aviation challenges.
• Develop engineering documentation in accordance with company procedures and program requirements.
• Create engineering reports, wire harness diagrams, electrical wire-routing designs, electrical schematics, electrical load analyses, test plans, and test reports.
• Develop component-to-aircraft integration drawings and technical designs suitable for FAA DER review and approval.
• Maintain complete and accurate engineering files and project documentation.
• Support engineering change and configuration management throughout the design and integration process.
• Support system testing and verification to confirm aircraft modifications meet engineering requirements and design objectives.
• Collaborate with FAA DERs, DARs, equipment manufacturers, customers, and flight crews to support viable and safe aircraft designs.
• Provide technical expertise during aircraft modification and integration activities.
• Support remote aircraft modifications through occasional domestic and international travel and on-site technical assistance.
• Read and interpret aircraft blueprints, schematics, drawings, and engineering documentation to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, aerospace, and customer engineers to achieve successful system integration.
• Maintain awareness of assigned aircraft program status and identify technical or operational issues that could affect schedules.
• Communicate potential delay risks to management and customers at the earliest opportunity.
• Keep assigned Program Managers informed of project status, technical progress, risks, and issues.
• Build strong professional relationships across Engineering and other departments while helping the team achieve program objectives and exceed customer expectations.
• Prepare written correspondence, reports, and other technical communications related to work performed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by department management.
