Systems Engineering (Aircraft Avionics Engineer)

Bristol Bay Native Corportation•Hill Air Force Base, UT

About The Position

STS Government Solutions, LLC (SGS), a government contracting and consulting firm supporting federal agencies and military installations, is seeking an Avionics Engineer to support its mission at Hill AFB, Utah. The role covers technical requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of avionics, data networks, and interfaces for airborne vehicles and ground control station avionics systems, with the aim of ensuring operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness (OSS&E). The engineer provides technical expertise for integrating avionics across Air Force manned and unmanned platforms, working with systems such as flight management systems, mission computers, controls and displays, data buses, air data systems, navigation and attitude-reference systems, radar altimeters, transponders, radios, radars, electronic warfare systems, mission and vehicle-management systems, and diagnostics. The position addresses complex avionics integration concerns including safety-critical design and verification, network determinism, integrity of safety-critical parameters, vehicle control, redundancy, fault tolerance, failure management, resource management, environmental constraints, avionics integrity, reliability, service life, safe operation, and supportability. The Avionics Engineer coordinates across functional areas and engineering domains to achieve seamless weapon-system-level integration, and provides technical mentoring to strengthen and train the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) engineering workforce.
