About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator to join our In-Service Operations team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as an Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator involves assuming the dual mandate of supervising Maintenance activities and Quality Assurance (QA). You will control resources, lead functional teams, and act as an authority (QA Manager) on technical best practices. You will also act as AMO SMS Officer coordinating with the maintenance organisation and Airbus Canada Corporate SMS team. Your impact extends beyond the hangar floor, influencing cross-divisional policies and ensuring that every bolt turned meets the highest global safety standards.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of aircraft maintenance experience in various environments (airlines operation, heavy maintenance, line maintenance, maintenance planning, major repairs etc)
  • Experience in a supervision role of an Approved Maintenance Organization
  • Very good knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulation (CAR 571, 573 and 706)
  • Knowledge of EASA, FAA and other regulatory authorities
  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M2)
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and excellent communication skills, with strong "people" skills
  • Fluidity in both English and French (spoken and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CAR 561
  • Endorsement on the A220

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage functional maintenance teams during scheduled and unscheduled checks following aircraft delivery
  • Allocate technical resources, tooling, and manpower to meet operational deadlines without compromising safety
  • Serve as the primary mentor for junior engineers, providing high-level technical guidance and sign-off
  • Develop, implement, and audit maintenance policies to ensure compliance with aviation authorities (e.g., TCCA, FAA, EASA, or local equivalents)
  • Identify systemic quality issues and implement corrective actions that impact the broader organization
  • Drive the adoption of "best practice" methodologies to improve maintenance efficiency and reliability
  • Lead investigations into complex mechanical, avionic, or structural discrepancies that bypass standard procedural resolutions. As AMO SMS Officer, you will administer, monitor, and promote the daily operation of the Safety Management System across all maintenance activities; ensuring proactive identification of maintenance hazards, proper risk mitigation and compliance with regulatory safety requirements. Apply advanced Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles to identify systemic failures rather than just immediate technical symptoms
  • Act as quality authority during critical maintenance scenarios. Independently evaluate and authorize technical dispositions, ensuring that expedited return -to-service demands never compromise regulatory compliance or safety margin
  • Utilize data-driven insights to predict and mitigate quality escapes
  • Coordinate with external vendors, manufacturers (OEMs), and transdivisional departments to streamline maintenance activities
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of related disciplines such as logistics, procurement, and safety engineering
  • Manage high-stakes projects and daily operations independently
  • Elevate the technical proficiency of the entire maintenance department
  • Evaluate how maintenance / quality decisions affect the long-term lifecycle and value of the assets
