About The Position

The Air Logistics Warehouse Supervisor directly supervises a busy team of Airport Logistics associates who move packages by hand and pushcart within an indoor/outdoor facility located on airport property. This hands-on role supports the team responsible for ensuring packages arrive on time to destinations across the United States. The operation is cross-dock, facilitating daily package throughput from aircraft to warehouse to trucks with no or minimal storage. The indoor facility is an open-air environment and is not temperature controlled; the supervisor may work in or around aircraft.

Requirements

Two to five years of previous management or specialist supervisory experience in field service duties; dependent judgment and decision-making skills are required.
College degree or equivalent experience.
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and oral communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.
Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand English.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Familiarity with personal computer software.

Responsibilities

Monitor the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned personnel.
Direct personnel within the assigned functional area.
Oversee and advise on staffing needs to ensure appropriate coverage.
Participate in disciplining, coaching, counseling, hiring, and terminating subordinates, as well as training them.
Ensure budgetary controls and manning requirements.
Communicate as required with Airport Board officials and individual customers.
Proactively monitor assigned employees’ work to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality, and employee relations meet or exceed standards.
Maintain and control required operational aspects in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA requirements.
Ensure compliance with company rules and regulations and contractual agreements.
Read, understand, and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan; ensure WFS staff receive relevant company identification and display their badges.
Administer practices fairly and equitably, treating employees, customers, vendors, and other third parties with respect.
