About The Position

The Warehouse Agent handles air cargo in a designated warehouse, including loading and unloading cargo; receiving, delivering, and physically handling freight and company materials; and completing forms and messages required for assigned functions. The position may also involve routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities, with or without powered equipment, and assisting with facility security monitoring. Agents must comply with WFS site security procedures and report security breaches, suspicious activity, or non-compliance with the site security plan.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off.
Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with or without assistance of sight or visual aids.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Ability to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.
Ability to distinguish the colors red, green, and yellow.
The job is covered by a Transport Workers Union collective bargaining agreement requiring joining the TWU and paying union dues.

Responsibilities

Move air cargo within the designated warehouse.
Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.
Build up cargo for outbound flights.
Break down cargo from import flights.
Load and unload cargo to and from semitrucks.
May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklifts, aircraft pallets, and pallet jacks.
Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions, and documentation when accepting or delivering cargo.
Confirm Dangerous Goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specified procedures for received DG shipments, including shipments abandoned by the consignee.
Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions.
May clean work areas, ramps, and facilities, with or without powered equipment.
May assist in monitoring facility security; follow site security procedures and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance.
