The Coordinator will foster a "Community of Practice" to support students, faculty, and community members in navigating the evolving AI landscape.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Education Technology).
  • Four years of experience coordinating educational lab spaces or technology-heavy student success programs.
  • Has experience with and a passion for coordinating lab activities, facilitating workshops, and creating schedules that integrate faculty expertise with industry-standard hardware usage.
  • Experience with educational program coordination and micro-credentials, including managing student recruitment and tracking participant progress for program badge completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic outreach pipelines that connect K-12 educators, high school students, and community members to the center through major recruitment events.
  • Has experience with cross-functional collaboration and establishing active partnerships across multiple departments.
  • This includes integrating lab resources into specific program mappings and proactively collaborating with the IT department to align infrastructure changes and tech initiatives with program goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to respond to changing industry needs by facilitating consultations or "Community of Practice" sessions to ensure lab technologies and skills training remain relevant to the current job market.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the physical and digital resources of the Willow Creek AI Lab, ensuring a welcoming and functional space for student-facing updates and program exploration.

  • Design and facilitate AI Literacy workshops for prospective students and community members.
  • Collaborate with Faculty Department Chairs (FDCs) and others, to identify opportunities where AI usage can be embedded into coursework as a critical tool for student success and career readiness.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the lab and industry partners (e.g., NVIDIA, Intel, Core Defender) to organize workshops and hackathons.
  • Collaborate with on-site partners to integrate training opportunities for community members, small business owners, and prospective students.
  • Participate in STEM pathway "visioning" sessions to align lab activities with college-wide goals, such as FDC partnerships and professional development initiatives.
