About The Position

Samsung Design Innovation Center (SDIC) in San Francisco is assembling a focused team to pioneer the future of digital health. This group will operate at the nexus of design, AI, and human experience, investigating how agentic and conversational AI can revolutionize health and fitness interactions. The team's objective is to address complex, forward-thinking design challenges, fostering creativity, refining concepts, and developing innovative experiences for the near and mid-term. Collaboration with global partners will be key to establishing impactful design directions, integrating user insights, data, and advanced design methodologies. This is a full-time, one-year contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance. We are seeking skilled designers to inject fresh energy into our processes, contributing to all facets of product design—from identifying user needs and opportunities to conceptualizing products, creatively applying technology to solve user problems, and crafting transformative experiences. SDIC is a premier design and innovation hub within Samsung, dedicated to understanding people and lifestyles to deliver meaningful experiences through aesthetically pleasing, functional design powered by cutting-edge technology. The studio engages in developing advanced product experiences that influence Samsung's future business, working cross-functionally through an experience-driven approach. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree preferred in Design, HCI, Product Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
5+ years of UX Design experience, including Project Management/Leadership and User Experience/Interaction Experience.
Fluency in utilizing AI tools for research.
Adept at using AI tools for design and rough prototyping.
Understand user behaviors and interactions with products and services to create compelling product solutions.
Experience working on a range of products including hardware/software, mobile, and voice interfaces.
Strong HCI (human-computer interaction) skills.
Strong user research appetite.
Strong understanding of design thinking, design principles, and experience design methodologies and their applications.
Experience with design hypothesis development, prototyping & testing, sketching & visualizing bold ideas and user scenarios.
Ability to identify new opportunities and business value for UX innovation and differentiation with technology enablers.
Experience pitching and communicating UX/UI concepts to stakeholders.
Proficiency in creating documentation: Scenarios, Wireframes, Visual Design, low & high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes.
Clear, concise, and transparent communication style.
Self-starter, open to starting a project, idea, or concept from scratch.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, visualize, and develop product ideas with a focus on future AI-driven health experiences.
Integrate AI to enhance user experience, utilizing technologies like conversational and agentic systems.
Develop concepts that transform complex systems into simple, intuitive, and human-centered experiences.
Perform wireframing, conceptualization, rapid prototyping, user testing, interaction design, and visual design.
Collaborate closely with other Designers and Engineers on products and features.
Craft experiences that achieve set goals, including proactive and personalized user outcomes.
Develop prototypes at various fidelity levels to support iterative design.
Formulate appropriate questions based on learning objectives and conduct user testing independently or with peers.
Go beyond expectations to advance ideas.
Travel internationally and domestically, and work overtime when needed.
