About The Position

Samsung Design Innovation Center (SDIC) in San Francisco is assembling a focused team to pioneer the future of digital health. This group will operate at the nexus of design, AI, and human experience, investigating how agentic and conversational AI can revolutionize health and fitness. The team will address complex, forward-thinking design challenges to foster creativity, refine concepts, and develop innovative experiences for the near and mid-term. Collaboration with global partners will be key to shaping impactful design directions, integrating user insights, data, and advanced design methodologies. This is a full-time, one-year contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance. We are seeking talented designers to inject fresh energy into our processes. Candidates should be prepared to contribute across all product design phases, from identifying user needs and opportunities to conceptualizing new products, creatively applying technology to solve user problems, and creating novel experiences that redefine product interaction. SDIC is a premier design and innovation hub within Samsung, dedicated to understanding people and lifestyles to deliver meaningful experiences through aesthetically pleasing, functional design, powered by cutting-edge technology. The studio is actively developing advanced product experiences that will influence Samsung's future business, working with various internal teams through an experience-driven approach. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree preferred in Design, HCI, Product Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years of UX Design with Project Management/Leadership, User experience/Interaction
  • Experience and fluency in utilizing AI tools for research
  • Adept at using AI tools for design and rough prototyping work
  • Understand user behaviors and interactions of products and services and create compelling product solutions based on their behaviors
  • Experience working on a range of products from hardware/software, mobile, voice interfaces, etc.
  • Strong HCI (human-computer interaction) skills and strong user research appetite
  • Strong understanding of design thinking, design principles, and experience design methodologies and their applications
  • Design hypothesis development, prototyping & testing, sketching & visualizing bold ideas and user scenarios
  • Identify new opportunities and business value for UX innovation and differentiation with technology enablers
  • Pitching and communicating the UX/UI concept to stakeholders
  • Documentation creation: Scenarios, Wireframes, Visual Design, low & high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes
  • Be clear, concise, have transparent communication style, self-starter, and open to starting a project, idea, concept from scratch

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, visualize and develop ideas for products with an emphasis on future AI-driven health experiences
  • Integrate AI with the lens of improving the user experience, leveraging various AI technologies including conversational and agentic systems
  • Building ideas that turn complex and confusing systems into simple, intuitive and human-centered experiences
  • Wireframing, conceptualizing, rapid prototyping, user-testing, interaction design, and visual design
  • Collaboration! Work on products and features in close collaboration with other Designers and Engineers
  • Crafting experiences that accomplish appropriately set goals, including proactive and personalized user outcomes
  • Developing prototypes at varying fidelity levels to support iterative design needs throughout the project
  • Knowing how to ask the right questions based on learning objectives and conducting user testing alone and/or with peers
  • Extending beyond expectations to push ideas forward
  • Travel International and Domestic and work overtime when needed
