About The Position

The AI Engineering Platform team builds and operates cloud infrastructure, platforms, and automation capabilities that support Micron’s analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads. Using cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-enabled solutions, the team delivers scalable, secure, and reliable platforms that support enterprise innovation and engineering productivity. As a Platform Engineering Intern, you will work with experienced engineers to support infrastructure and platforms for AI, analytics, and cloud-based solutions. You will gain hands-on experience with cloud technologies, Kubernetes, automation, Infrastructure as Code, AI-enabled tools, and platform operations while contributing to projects that improve scalability, reliability, and engineering efficiency.

Requirements

Have 0–2 years of relevant experience through coursework, academic projects, personal projects, hackathons, or internships in software development, cloud computing, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
Be currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Have experience programming in Python, Go, Java, Bash, or similar languages.
Have familiarity with Linux/Unix systems, cloud computing concepts, and modern software development fundamentals.
Demonstrate problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and analytical skills, with an interest in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), AI platforms, Generative AI, and Agentic AI technologies.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or cloud platforms through coursework, projects, certifications, or internships.
Familiarity with Git, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation practices.
Knowledge of AI/ML platforms, machine learning frameworks, data pipelines, SQL, or analytics technologies.
Experience building automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, dashboards, monitoring solutions, or cloud-native applications.
Interest in pursuing a career in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or AI Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Support cloud platform, Kubernetes, and infrastructure projects while collaborating with global platform engineering teams.
Develop scripts, automation tools, dashboards, and monitoring solutions to improve platform reliability, operational visibility, and resource utilization.
Assist with platform support, operational activities, and customer requests while learning enterprise platform engineering protocols.
Evaluate emerging technologies, build proof-of-concept solutions, and contribute to platform improvements related to cloud infrastructure, AI, and automation.
Develop and leverage AI-powered tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
