About The Position

Addepar is seeking an AI Engineer to join its rapidly growing AI Platform team, which builds innovative AI solutions across the company’s product suite. The role focuses on designing, building, and productionizing the core AI capabilities that power the platform. It is a hands-on position working with LLMs and agentic frameworks to turn emerging AI concepts into robust, scalable products and capabilities. The AI Engineer will own the lifecycle of AI-native products, from prototyping and evaluation through development of scalable backend systems delivered to clients. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship and must be authorized to begin work in the U.S. on their first day.

Requirements

1–3+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
Expertise in programming languages and technologies such as Python, Golang, gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes.
Strong systems-level foundation in building and scaling backend services, including knowledge of microservices, APIs, and concurrency.
Experience shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features, or significant personal AI projects demonstrating a strong passion for AI.
Bias for action and a passion for shipping rapidly and iterating based on feedback.
Proactivity, deep ownership, and desire to learn and build at the frontier of AI.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship, and authorized to begin work in the U.S. on the first day.

Nice To Haves

Specific experience with LLMs and agentic systems.
Hands-on experience with technologies in the modern AI/LLM ecosystem, such as Databricks, Langchain, or MLFlow.
Advanced understanding of the probabilistic systems underpinning modern LLMs.
Experience building AI products in highly accuracy-sensitive domains such as finance.

Responsibilities

Design and build end-to-end AI-native products, from initial prototypes through scalable production services.
Develop and productionize core AI platform components, including LLMs and their ecosystem, agentic frameworks, and core agent capabilities such as MCP, cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use.
Iterate on AI products using performance metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Evaluate and drive adoption of new AI technologies and frameworks.
Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to translate strategic goals into technical solutions and abstract AI complexity so teams can iterate quickly.
