About The Position

Micron’s AI Engineering Platform team builds and operates cloud infrastructure, platforms, and automation capabilities for analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads. The team uses cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-enabled solutions to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable platforms across the enterprise. As a Platform Engineering Intern, you will work with experienced engineers to support infrastructure and platforms enabling AI, analytics, and cloud-based solutions. You will gain hands-on experience with cloud technologies, Kubernetes, automation, Infrastructure as Code, AI-enabled tools, and platform operations while contributing to projects that improve scalability, reliability, and engineering efficiency.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
0–2 years of relevant experience through coursework, academic or personal projects, hackathons, or internships in software development, cloud computing, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
Programming experience in Python, Go, Java, Bash, or similar languages.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems, cloud computing concepts, and modern software development fundamentals.
Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated interest in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), AI platforms, Generative AI, and Agentic AI technologies.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or cloud platforms through coursework, projects, certifications, or internships.
Familiarity with Git, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation practices.
Knowledge of AI/ML platforms, machine learning frameworks, data pipelines, SQL, or analytics technologies.
Experience building automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, dashboards, monitoring solutions, or cloud-native applications.
Interest in pursuing a career in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or AI Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Support cloud platform, Kubernetes, and infrastructure projects in collaboration with global platform engineering teams.
Develop scripts, automation tools, dashboards, and monitoring solutions to improve platform reliability, operational visibility, and resource utilization.
Assist with platform support, operational activities, and customer requests while learning enterprise platform engineering protocols.
Evaluate emerging technologies, build proof-of-concept solutions, and contribute to improvements involving cloud infrastructure, AI, and automation.
Develop and use AI-powered tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
