About The Position

CWILL is seeking a Product Management Trainee for its AI Chat team. This program offers hands-on experience in the full product management workflow, learning through real work rather than simulations. The trainee will support core product tasks and grow to independently own product modules. The AI Chat product is an AI customer service chat for Shopify stores that handles shopper inquiries and escalates to human agents when necessary.

Requirements

Recent graduate from a US university (BS or MS), or within 1–2 years of graduation.
Any major welcome; Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Economics, or Design preferred.
Mandarin Chinese communication ability required.
Genuine interest in internet products, SaaS, or the tech industry; desire to build a career in product management.
Sensitive to user experience and product details.
Curious about new technology; willing to learn continuously and move fast.
Fast learner who can absorb new business contexts, product logic, and technical concepts.
Structured thinker; able to break down complex problems, identify core issues, and form clear conclusions.
Comfortable grounding product decisions in data and user facts.

Nice To Haves

Internship experience in product management, product operations, business analysis, user research, software development, or a SaaS company.
Hands-on experience building with LLMs (prompting, chatbots, agents) or evaluating AI output.
Experience in customer support, conversational design or UX research.
Familiarity with e-commerce or Shopify stores.

Responsibilities

Review real conversations to identify AI misunderstandings or incorrect answers and collaborate with engineering on fixes.
Design AI handling of common intents like order status, returns, refunds, and product questions, including clarification and human handoff strategies.
Develop how AI Chat utilizes order, tracking, returns, and policy data for accurate answers.
Track metrics such as resolution rate, handoff rate, answer accuracy, and shopper satisfaction, and assist in building evaluation sets.
Collect and analyze user feedback, customer requests, product data, and market information to identify improvement opportunities.
Participate in feature planning discussions, including ideation, user flows, and solution design.
Produce requirement documents, user flows, wireframes, functional specs, and acceptance criteria under PM guidance.
Track features from discovery through launch, ensuring clear problem definition and correct solution implementation.
Monitor product data and user feedback post-launch, identifying issues and proposing improvements.
Join user interviews and feedback sessions with Shopify merchants and e-commerce brands.
Track competitors and produce structured competitive analysis.
Convert user insights and market signals into actionable product recommendations.
Collaborate with engineering, design, QA, operations, and customer success to deliver high-quality products.
Proactively track project progress and flag issues early.
Own tasks with a results mindset, follow through on commitments, and complete retrospectives.
Conduct retrospectives on shipped features and build product judgment through iteration.
Take on increasing responsibility over time, potentially owning a product module or workstream independently.
