About The Position
Startup Insider is the leading information and media company in the German startup scene. We own the most listened-to startup podcast in the DACH region, high-reach newsletters, and a growing B2B platform. Our team works data-driven, curious, and hands-on – with a clear focus on AI, automation, and scalability. We are looking for you as an AI & Automation Working Student to automate processes, intelligently link data, and elevate internal workflows to the next level. Your role: You will be part of our 3-person Data Team and work at the interface between data, tools, and processes. Your focus will be on automating repetitive tasks, optimizing existing workflows, and implementing new AI-based solutions.
Requirements
- Current Bachelor's or Master's degree with a focus on data, business informatics, data science, business administration with an analytics focus, or comparable
- Completed personal projects (freelancing, side projects, or university projects with practical relevance)
- 1-2 relevant internships (ideally in a startup, scaleup, or VC environment)
- Experience with data preparation & transformation (Excel, Python, SQL, Google Sheets)
- Experience with automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier, Airtable Automations)
- Experience with database tools (Airtable or comparable)
- Motivation & willingness to learn to quickly familiarize yourself with new systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience with API integrations
- Basic knowledge of Python or JavaScript
- Understanding of CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce)
- Interest in data analysis & visualization
Responsibilities
- Build & optimize workflows (using tools like n8n, Make, or Zapier)
- Link tools & systems (e.g., Airtable, HubSpot, Google Workspace, APIs)
- Test & implement AI-based solutions for content creation, data analysis, or process optimization
- Transform, clean, & structure data for operational teams
- Research, test, & document new AI & automation tools
- Document processes & automations cleanly (for transparency & scalability)
