About The Position
Shelter Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial Agent to operate an agency in Avon, Indiana. The role centers on developing prospects, selling Shelter insurance products, building community connections, and serving clients. Agents may have the opportunity to hire staff to assist with administrative duties and sales. Prior insurance experience is not required. Shelter offers in-house and virtual new-agent training and continuing industry education to help agents develop the skills needed to launch their agency. Prospective agents are not required to have capital or assets to be considered, and Shelter does not sell agencies or lend agents startup funds. Agents are expected to meet sales requirements and core business proficiencies. If an agent leaves, financial responsibility is limited to outstanding bills incurred through departure, which may include advertising contracts, telephone bills, and utilities. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. Relocation compensation is not provided.
