The Ryan Underhill Agency, part of Farmers Insurance, is seeking a motivated and ambitious Agent in Training to join our high-performing team in Kentwood. As an Agent in Training, you will: Play a key role in generating new business, providing tailored insurance solutions, and supporting a dynamic team environment Collaborate with experienced professionals to deepen your knowledge of insurance sales and client service Build lasting relationships with clients while helping them choose the right coverage for their needs

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in sales, customer service, or a related field (insurance experience a plus)
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Confident making outbound calls and closing sales
  • Eager to learn, open to coaching, and willing to develop professionally
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health licenses preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Bilingual abilities are an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and convert new leads into long-term clients
  • Consult with individuals and businesses to assess their insurance needs and provide customized coverage options
  • Sell and cross-sell insurance products, including Auto, Home, Life, and Commercial policies
  • Deliver superior customer service through regular client contact and policy reviews
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual sales targets to contribute to overall agency growth
  • Stay up to date on insurance products, market trends, and compliance regulations
  • Effectively use CRM tools to manage leads, follow-ups, and policy renewals
  • Participate in team meetings and support agency-wide sales initiatives
