About The Position

Serves as the primary contact for Avera Health Plans Broker, Agency and Consultant network. The Agency Relations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all distribution channel support including agent onboarding, E&O insurance, marketing and collaterals, compliance and training. Responsibilities include managing the agent appointment process, evaluating the compliance status of appointed agents, coordinating the new quote process in conjunction with Avera Health Plans departments, contract management, training, and content expertise in Avera Health Plans products and services.

  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • South Dakota Resident Producers License - South Dakota Division of Insurance
  • Avera Health and Life license is required in all active service states within 90 Days
  • 4-6 years Experience in customer service, sales or related position, preferable in a health related business.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and carry out the functions necessary for outstanding agency sales management as measured by new sales growth, client retention, survey response, and compliance metrics.
  • Build strong personal relationships with agents, consultants and their groups.
  • Assure that the distribution network is compliant with all federal, state, and internal regulations, requirements, and policies.
  • Train agents on portals, commissions, and product offerings.
  • Educate and promote Avera Health Plans products and services.
  • Monitor the agent portal and report any issues to the appropriate vendor.
  • Complete the agent appointment and reappointment process.
  • Maintain an up-to-date agent manual outlining Avera Health Plans current policies and procedures.
  • Complete and submit all required weekly and monthly agent activity reports.
  • Track and report Broker/Agent performance and market evaluation.
  • Assist with sales efforts across individual, Medicare supplement, and other lines of business during peak sales periods.
