About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated Agency Relations Strategist to join our team. The position requires the following, but is not limited to: Aid management by: Coordinating an area’s activities and services; and Keeping management informed of progress in meeting objectives, and problems involving the activities or services of the area. Review the progress made in meeting objectives, analyze operating procedures, prepare records or reports for management including conclusions and recommendations for solutions to problems. Initiate, review, and answer correspondence by telephone, memo, and letter. Potentially direct the activities of associates in meeting Company objectives. Have regular and predictable attendance in meeting a defined work schedule. The position acts as a central point of coordination between all divisions, teams and regions. Help align internal teams around shared priorities and agency-specific strategies. Identify gaps, friction points, and opportunities to improve execution. Supports key agency initiatives. Provide continuity and follow-through on strategic discussions and commitments. Assist in communicating updates, progress, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. Support integration efforts related to large agency mergers and acquisitions. Promote consistency in how we approach large agencies across regions. Help reinforce best practices and shared expectations. No direct reports – success is driven through influence and alignment. Works across departments, requiring strong collaboration and communication. Balances strategic thinking with execution and follow-through. Operates with a high level of independence, initiative, and problem-solving. Primarily office-based, with targeted travel for key meetings and agency engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Several years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

  • Merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating an area’s activities and services
  • Keeping management informed of progress in meeting objectives, and problems involving the activities or services of the area
  • Review the progress made in meeting objectives, analyze operating procedures, prepare records or reports for management including conclusions and recommendations for solutions to problems
  • Initiate, review, and answer correspondence by telephone, memo, and letter
  • Potentially direct the activities of associates in meeting Company objectives

  • Support the rollout of a more strategic, relationship-based underwriting with claims alignment across key agency partners
  • Carry forward directions established at the executive level into day-to-day execution with regional offices, home office teams, and agencies
  • Ensure consistency in approach across regions and lines of business
  • Act as a central point of coordination between all divisions, teams and regions
  • Align internal teams around shared priorities and agency-specific strategies
  • Identify gaps, friction points, and opportunities to improve execution
  • Support key agency initiatives
  • Provide continuity and follow-through on strategic discussions and commitments
