About The Position

This is a Hybrid Co-Op position in Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering, focusing on Structures Engineering. The role involves providing engineering support to maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes, performing structural assessments, and participating in integrated product teams. The co-op session runs from January to June, requiring students to take time off from coursework to fully engage. The position is located in Aguadilla, PR, and requires residency in Puerto Rico at the time of employment. Relocation is not offered. RTX is a large aerospace and defense company focused on solving complex problems and advancing technology.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in an applicable field of study: Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) processes.
  • Perform structural assessments for stress analysis, vibration, low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction.
  • Participate as an active member in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Redact clear technical documentation.
  • Create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and sustain a healthy work relationship based on mutual trust with peers, internal and external customers where significant interaction is expected.
