About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable coaches to teach beginner-friendly pickleball and tennis sessions to elementary school students in grades K–5 at multiple school sites around the Bay Area. The sessions focus on creating a fun, energetic environment for children ages 5–10. Coaches typically teach one approximately one-hour class per day, with a possible additional 30 minutes of pre-care. Programs run Monday through Friday between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Weekend tennis clinics are also available, with 2–4 hours of work depending on tennis skills and class level.

The after-school role is part-time, typically 2–4 hours per week, and pays $50–$65 per session. The posting also lists compensation of $50–$65 per hour. Weekend tennis clinics pay $18–$24 per hour. Equipment and lesson plans are provided. Candidates must live locally, be available for in-person work at Bay Area schools, and have reliable transportation. Applicants must already be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years old.
• Enjoy working with children and be patient, enthusiastic, and reliable.
• Have good communication and class-management skills.
• Have reliable transportation around the East Bay and Peninsula.
• Be fully vaccinated and willing to undergo a TB test and Live Scan background check before starting work.

• Have a valid work permit and already be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.
• Currently live locally and be available for in-person work.
• At least a high school education or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Previous pickleball teaching or playing experience is preferred but not required.
• USPTA or PTR certification is a plus.
• Tennis skills relevant to weekend clinics.

Responsibilities

• Teach pickleball classes for students ages 5–10 using provided lesson plans.
• Manage classes of 8–16 students and maintain a positive environment.
• Attend a two-day training or shadowing session before starting.
• Take attendance, manage student sign-ins, and interact with parents and school staff.
• Capture a few class photos for documentation.
