About The Position

Magellan International School in Austin, Texas, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated After-School Care Guides (ASCG) to help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children ages 3 to 13 can learn, explore, and grow. The position is part-time and available Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It operates in indoor and outdoor settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and activity spaces, where noise levels may vary from moderate to high during active learning, recess, and group activities.

Guides supervise students and activities, support a healthy and culturally inclusive environment, follow after-school routines and activity guidance, maintain student check-in and check-out records, and communicate with students, colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders. The role requires physical activity, including standing, bending, lifting, stooping, and actively engaging with children. A criminal history background check is required for finalists. Hired candidates must complete the federal I-9 form and present acceptable original documents verifying identity and authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Part-time availability Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Experience working with children.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Supervise play activities, games, sports, and creative projects.
• Follow after-school schedules, routines, curriculum plans, and activity guidelines.
• Enforce school safety and security policies for students and visitors.
• Maintain accurate student check-in and check-out records.
• Communicate effectively with students, team members, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
