Requirements

  • Team Leads are workers who have a high degree of technical proficiency in their jobs, who serve as intermediaries between their supervisor and employees.
  • Team leaders serve as mentors and trainers for their work area.
  • With this dual role, the job description(s) of the jobs in the area also apply to the Team Lead.
  • High School education or GED preffered.
  • Two years supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical work proficiency in the department assigned to.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and scheduling to team members in their daily activities.
  • Assign work, give directions, and monitor work progress.
  • Handle product movement and dispatch coordination.
  • Effectively communicate needs, priorities, and issues to the Supervisor, relevant departments, logistics, engineering, and production management, including those on different shifts.
  • Promote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues.
  • Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures.
  • Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment.
  • Develop employees’ continuous improvement abilities.
  • Use and develop visual systems so that no problems are hidden. Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior.
  • Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide constructive feedback.
