About The Position

The 1st shift Production Lead will collaborate with team members to produce quality Kringle according to production standards and demands under the guidance and direction of the Baking Supervisor. This role involves leading the Dough and Kringle Line teams (approximately 12 team members) through daily production needs and operations, engaging team members, and working with other managers, supervisors, and Human Resources to facilitate positive relationships. The Production Lead will assist the Baking Supervisor in overseeing the integrity and production of Kringle sold in retail stores, wholesale, and mail order, as well as daily dough production and quality. The position focuses on optimizing operational efficiencies while ensuring high-quality standards, training team members on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and other food safety procedures. Responsibilities also include operating and troubleshooting machinery, addressing equipment issues, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and developing team members to function effectively in the supervisor's absence. The role requires willingness to assist other departments as needed and perform other related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Leadership Experience in Food Service and/or Manufacturing environment strongly desired
Strong Math skills, including but not limited to the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without the aid of a calculator
Ability to read and speak English
Ability to obtain information and take a proactive approach to problem solving
Ability to lead staff members in a collaborative and encouraging manner
Ability to obtain information and take a proactive approach to problem solving
Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout shift
Comfortable standing, lifting, and bending for the duration of an entire shift
Ability to complete repetitive motions throughout designated shift
Ability to Stand or Walk for extended periods of time throughout shift

Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team members to produce quality Kringle according to production standards and demands under the guidance and direction of the Baking Supervisor.
Lead the Dough and Kringle Line teams (approximately 12 team members) through daily production needs and operations.
Engage team members; work with other managers, supervisors and Human Resources to facilitate positive relationships with team members.
Assist the Baking Supervisor in overseeing the integrity and production of Kringle sold in retail stores, wholesale and mail order.
Assist Baking Supervisor in overseeing daily dough production and quality.
Work to optimize operational efficiencies while ensuring the company’s high-quality standards are met or exceeded.
Ensure that all workers on team are trained and adhere to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
Ensure that all workers on team are trained and adhere to the company's HACCP and other food safety procedures.
Navigate, operate, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment required for the kringle line operations.
Within the guidelines of the company’s maintenance program, work to troubleshoot any issues and involve maintenance to ensure equipment is available for use when needed and properly maintained.
Ensure daily/weekly orders are being filled accurately.
Build up team members to ensure the team functions as well or better in the absence of their supervisor as when the supervisor is present.
Be willing to help other departments when in need to help carry out our mission on a daily basis.
Other related duties as assigned by management.
