Requirements

  • Three years of experience with victim advocacy, social work, crisis intervention, and/or a closely related field that includes case management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field
  • Must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Four years of experience with victim advocacy, social work, crisis intervention, and/or a closely related field that includes case management experience
  • Supervisory and/or lead experience
  • Experience working in a criminal justice system and/or public service experience working in a victim/advocate-related capacity
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish
  • Completed courses related to supervisory skills and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities under their direction, review, and assign cases to the assigned Advocate and/or Victim Services staff
  • Manage large, complex caseloads and document and present findings
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of Advocate staff
  • Manage personnel issues such as coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary actions
  • Gather information and write weekly and monthly reports based on statistical information and staff accomplishments
  • Provide information on the criminal justice system and on victims' legal rights and protections according to the Arizona Constitution: Article II, Section 2.1, the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) § 13-4400 through 13-4439 and (A.R.S.) § 8-381 through 8-421
  • Provide crisis intervention response, information, resources, and referrals to social service agencies for victims and perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide court accompaniment and/or attend court proceedings with or on behalf of a victim
  • Research case status using numerous computer databases, in person, or by phone
  • Participate in committees and/or work on special projects as directed by the supervisor
  • Carry out the mission and vision of the division under the direction of the Division Chief
