About The Position

The Advising Specialist position supports T3's mission by assisting with student advising and family engagement, digital platform integration, and program operations. This role emphasizes proactive student advising, data informed intervention strategies, family engagement, and campus partnership development to support students in becoming college, career, and military ready. Advising Specialists utilize student-level data, case management systems, and targeted outreach strategies to support postsecondary planning, TSI attainment, CCMR readiness, and successful transitions beyond high school. Working under the direction of the PSP Sr. Manager or Manager, the Advising Specialist delivers the T3 PATHWAYS Advising Model while building strong relationships with students, families, school staff, and district partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, advanced degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience working within higher education, K-12 education, workforce development, and/or a corporate philanthropy setting.
  • Experience and success working in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Experience working with digital platforms, training support, or program operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persuasive.
  • Ability to advise students towards college, career, and military readiness.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently on initiatives.
  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with campus and district stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret student-level data and implement targeted intervention strategies.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Belief in the power of education and equity to improve outcomes for all students in alignment with T3’s mission.
  • Flexibility to support ongoing and emerging projects.

Responsibilities

  • Directly advise a caseload of high school students to become future ready and TSI/CCMR met and support those students to achieve their postsecondary plans.
  • Execute targeted student and family communication strategies, ensuring timely and relevant information is shared.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships in the Go Center with students, families, and school-based staff through regular touchpoints and responsive support.
  • Collaborate with district staff and nonprofit partners to ensure students have clear pathways to postsecondary opportunities.
  • Lead and support implementation of strategic initiatives including FAFSA completion, college applications, T3 Pledge campaigns, TSI support, workforce readiness activities, Summer Launch, and other postsecondary success initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary T3 representative on assigned campuses, collaborating with school and district partners to coordinate student support efforts and advance postsecondary readiness and CCMR outcomes.
  • Provide operational and logistical support for postsecondary readiness events, trainings, and workshops (both in-person and virtual).
  • Assist in coordinating scheduling, materials, and resources for T3 events and trainings.
  • Support special projects such as department committees and working groups.
  • Analyze student engagement and outcome data to inform advising strategies, identify trends, and support organizational reporting requirements on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing support of the T3 P2C digital platform at partner schools.
  • Support training development and delivery for advisers, staff, and partners to ensure fidelity of platform use.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Manager to design user guides, toolkits, and digital learning resources for students, families, and partner staff.
  • Track and analyze student engagement data in case management systems (e.g., Salesforce) and district partner platforms (i.e. SchooLinks) to inform communication and support strategies.
