About The Position

This role aligns to a Technical Integrations Engineer (TIE). The Technical Integrations Engineer (TIE) serves as a technical integration lead and strategic delivery partner, ensuring the successful implementation, scalability, and ongoing support of Pearson’s integrated learning solutions. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, security, support, and external partners, owning the technical execution and long‑term health of integrations, rather than one‑time project delivery. The TIE is a subject matter expert in Pearson’s integration ecosystem, responsible for guiding complex LMS integrations, influencing platform strategy, mitigating technical risk, and enabling internal teams and clients to operate successfully at scale.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in technical project management, integrations, or platform delivery, preferably in EdTech or SaaS environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while driving cross‑functional alignment and outcomes.
  • Strong technical investigation and systems‑thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • High comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving environments.
  • Ability to explain integration concepts clearly without relying on deep engineering knowledge from the audience.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Familiarity with industry‑leading LMS platforms and education technology ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and validate LMS integrations, including: Access Pearson (LTI 1.3) – coded and codeless implementations, SSO‑only integrations (Clever and ClassLink for K‑12), Google Classroom integrations.
  • Performing initial installs, testing, and launch validation with LMS administrators.
  • Validating application launch, course creation, and grade sync functionality.
  • Troubleshooting installation and configuration issues during setup.
  • Migrating institutions and users out of Direct Integration where applicable.
  • Act as the primary technical owner for LMS and platform integrations, including LTI, APIs, identity flows, data exchange, and automation patterns.
  • Drive integration design decisions, feasibility assessments, and solution alignment across Pearson products and platforms.
  • Own the end‑to‑end integration lifecycle, including intake, design, validation, launch, post‑launch stabilization, and ongoing optimization.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to internal stakeholders, campus LMS administrators, and third‑party partners.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Support, QA, and Customer Management to deliver scalable, supportable integration solutions.
  • Translate complex technical constraints into clear risks, options, and trade‑offs for non‑technical audiences.
  • Enable cross‑team adoption by creating documentation, training materials, implementation standards, and best practices.
  • Support pilot programs and early‑stage initiatives to validate future‑state integration models.
  • Proactively identify integration, security, data, and operational risks and drive mitigation plans.
  • Manage and triage multiple concurrent initiatives, incidents, and escalations, prioritizing based on business impact.
  • Support production issue resolution by coordinating across internal teams and external partners.
  • Apply lessons learned from retrospectives to improve processes, tooling, and delivery patterns.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of Pearson internal systems and workflows relevant to integrations and service delivery.
  • Contribute to process standardization and operational maturity, improving repeatability and reducing implementation friction.
  • Research and recommend tools or platform improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Pearson as a go‑to integration and platform expert.
  • Take ownership of team‑level initiatives that support roadmap execution and future growth.
  • Influence without authority, aligning diverse stakeholders around shared technical outcomes.
