Cleveland Clinic's Pediatric Institute is currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric Acute care certified) for a full-time NIGHTS position with Pediatric Critical Care. The hired APRN will care for critically ill patients within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Common patient populations and diagnoses include post operative orthopedic & neurosurgery patients, acute respiratory failure/ARDS requiring mechanical ventilation, bronchiolitis, status asthmaticus, status epilepticus, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, sepsis with need for vasoactive support, PNA, neuromuscular disease, AKI with need for CRRT, acute syndromes associated with neoplastic disease, solid organ transplant, VA/VV ECMO and hepatic failure. The PCCM Nurse Practitioner performs a comprehensive history and physical exam on patients presenting for care, develops a thorough differential diagnoses for acute and chronic conditions, and formulates an evidence-based plan of care. The PCCM Nurse practitioner provides family and patient centered care with the goal of continuity and consistency amongst all Advanced Practice Providers working within the PCCM department. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are required. Previous PICU experience is preferred for this position, however new graduates with strong ICU experience are welcome to apply. Pediatric Acute Care certification is required.
