Advanced Practice Provider | PICU (Nights)
About The Position
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the MSK Kids Pediatric ICU team. In this acute care role, the APP collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to pediatric ICU patients, addressing medical and psychosocial needs. The role contributes to MSK Kids’ specialized, personalized care for children, young adults, and families affected by childhood cancer, in an environment supported by research and innovation. The position is based at 1275 York Avenue in New York, NY. The schedule is 13 twelve-hour night shifts per four-week schedule, including weekend and holiday rotation. The position reports to the Associate Director, APP.
Requirements
- For the PA pathway: graduate from an accredited PA program and hold NCCPA certification.
- For the PA pathway: hold an active New York State license or be qualified for state licensure.
- For the NP pathway: hold current New York State RN and NP licenses or registrations.
- For the NP pathway: hold Pediatric Acute Care NP certification.
- For the NP pathway: have a master’s degree in nursing and prescriptive privileges or eligibility for them.
- For the NP pathway: have at least 1 year of prior clinical experience in a PICU.
- BLS and PALS certifications.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience is preferred for the PA pathway.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare team members, and surgical, anesthesia, and medical staff to support coordinated care.
- Provide comprehensive care to Pediatric ICU patients, addressing their medical and psychosocial needs.
- Conduct detailed patient history and physical assessments to inform treatment plans and patient care.
